Both teams fielded their strongest line-ups and the match was a real footballing treat for the good-sized crowd. The furious home attacks produced chance after chance, with Miklos and then Ivica Zmukić missing big opportunities. The visitors first threatened through a Lengyel header, which Markov saved without much effort. The spectators enjoyed a succession of fine moves and counter-attacks, in which the hosts excelled, and it paid off in the 29th minute: Miklos sent the ball into the goalmouth from the left and Kitli was there in a flash to score the first goal. The second was only ten minutes in coming, prepared by Todorović and again finished by Kitli.
The second half also began with furious home attacks: what Nikola Zmukić failed to do in its 6th minute, Agoston made up for a few minutes later, making it 3:0. The visitors freshened up their attack and soon Pozsgai pulled one back for 3:1 from a superb cross. Just two minutes later Petrović, the best player on the pitch, won a ball and picked out the well-placed Kitli, who did not let him down - 4:1. A spell of slight AFK superiority followed, with several chances, one of which Sakić took.
