The crossbar and three missed chances against Sokolac - Senta vs. Sokolac (86/87)

The home side missed a great opportunity, failing to take any of three clear chances in the first half. In a match of good tempo Senta had more of the initiative, but their attacks kept breaking down against the visitors' firm, assured defence, or the ball ended up with the excellent Pešut. As early as the 8th minute Verba was a fraction of a second late to a Kitli cross. In the 16th minute there was a real scramble in front of the Sokolac goal: Kitli's shot struck the crossbar, but there was no one to put in the rebound and the defence cleared. The visitors tried quick counter-attacks, and in the 18th minute Jokanović came close to beating Mojsilov, their only dangerous chance in that period. A Kitli shot then flew inches past the right-hand post.

Senta had more of the initiative after the break too. In the 55th minute there were more frantic scenes in front of the Sokolac goal, but Đurović could not punish a momentary lapse in the defence, and three minutes later Pešut saved his header comfortably. The hosts then seemed to ease off a little, and Pavičić and Mesić both tried their luck, fortunately for Senta without success. On chances and the balance of play Senta deserved to win.
