Some five hundred supporters from Senta and Kanjiža gathered at the stadium to watch the Tisa derby, but they were left disappointed: the visitors did not appear and the match was not played.
FK Senta's technical director Nikola Pjevač said that the Potisje coach had telephoned him on Saturday morning to say that several of their players had been called up for a military exercise. He added that the team would come if the two clubs agreed on the result in advance, and later offered to come for a friendly if Senta paid the travel costs. Pjevač replied that this was a league match and there was no room for haggling. The Potisje coach put the same proposal to Senta board member Marton Vicei, who answered that he could not postpone the match and that a result cannot be agreed in advance.
The unplayed match also caused Senta considerable financial loss. The fixture was eventually played later, at the end of November, in front of 150 spectators, and FK Senta won 3:0 (1:0). Todorović and Soti scored, and one goal was an own goal by the visitors.
