The youngsters earn a point against Bačka - Senta vs. Bačka (88/89)

This success, sadly, no longer saves Senta from relegation, but a side made up almost entirely of youth players showed with its fighting display that the youngsters should have been given their chance sooner, and things would surely have been different. Both goals were scored by youth players, Baku and Toth Abonyi, and a tremendous Roganović shot was kept out by the crossbar. In a word, Senta produced their best performance of the season, and the experienced Bačka side had to bow to it.

The hosts led twice, although the visitors replied to the first goal within two minutes. The game became livelier still after that, and the Mol side repeatedly resorted to fouls to stop the home attacks: in the 59th minute left-back Jakšić was sent off for an overly dangerous tackle on Agoston, and Bačka played on with ten men. Spasić equalised a minute from time. The home crowd was pleased with its team, and in the shootout Agoston, Csuzdi, Pocs and Belec all scored.
