The Senta players, most of them of youth age, gave the home side a lesson. Proleter were pale, played without any great ambition and made countless mistakes, and in the end could be content with a three-goal defeat. The visitors went ahead in the 13th minute through Gajda, who lobbed the advancing goalkeeper Đorđević in textbook fashion. Barely six minutes later Kovacs snaked past five or six defenders and scored from close range for a two-goal lead. In the 20th minute came a piece of clumsiness rarely seen even at this level: Bukvić, told that his coach wanted to substitute him, walked off, but the replacement Jablan did not yet have the necessary slip, so Proleter had to play four minutes with ten men. The hosts then pulled themselves together for a few minutes and made it 2:1 after a solo run by Csanak.
After the break the shaky Đorđević again showed his poor form: in the 47th minute he tried to handle outside the box, and Paku drove the resulting free kick unstoppably into the top right corner. In the 56th minute Kovacs took the stage again, his dribbling drawing applause from the stands even as he scored the visitors' fourth.
