The home side went into the derby without Sipos, Kitli, Farago and Agoston, so not even the most optimistic supporters believed in a win. Yet it was clear from the start that the great rival was not its old self either and had weak points. Rozsa could have put Senta ahead as early as the 5th minute but fired over from close range. The home pressure paid off in the 16th minute, when Nikola Zmukić beat the surprised Gorjanac with a thunderous free kick. Just a minute later Kipp was brought down near the penalty spot and Ivica Zmukić converted the deserved penalty.
Senta had further chances, but in the 37th minute, after a corner, the unmarked Dulić volleyed in to make it 2:1. After the break the visitors controlled the game for some twenty minutes and tested Markov, without success. From the 65th minute the hosts took over again, and in the 75th Barna ran on to a long ball, left the defence and the goalkeeper behind, but was caught and brought down by a defender. Ivica Zmukić again converted the penalty with confidence.
