The match began with midfield play. Both teams attacked and there were chances here and there, the visitors relying on long balls. With one of them Leškov got away in the 14th minute and took the ball past the advancing Markov, but Ban cleared the shot off the line as it headed for the empty net and then headed away the follow-up. It was a huge chance. On the counter the ball reached Kalman, who put Senta ahead with a thunderous shot from some 15 metres. The visitors attacked without success, and on one home attack a visiting defender underhit a back-pass, Todorović intercepted it and scored from a tight angle. In the 40th minute a fine move swept the length of the pitch: the ball went from Kalman via Sablatura to Popović, who scored the third from a tight angle past the advancing goalkeeper.
After the break the hosts played a little casually, and in the 69th minute, after a scramble, the ball came to Racsmany, who scored past the diving Markov. Many home attacks broke down for offside, and though the wingers carried the ball forward well their crosses were inaccurate. Even so, in the 74th minute Sablatura ran down the left and his powerful cross was headed sharply into his own net by Pufek. Železničar attacked more after that but frittered away their good chances.
