Three goals down proves too much - Senta vs. Pobeda (89/90)

The crowd of some two hundred saw a contest between two sides of similar ability, and two contrasting halves. The visitors were sharper and more effective in the first, while the second belonged almost entirely to the hosts. Pobeda went ahead from a harshly awarded penalty, converted by Szedlar. In the 35th minute Nagy, one of the visitors' best players, picked up a good ball, dribbled past several home players, outran the defenders and made it 2:0. Three minutes later Sarkozi scored from a similar situation.

The second half began with more organised and lively home attacks, though for a while they got no further than the visitors' box, where either the defence cleared or the goalkeeper dealt with weak shots. The real fight and the penetrating attacks began from the 65th minute. With Belec on and Toth Abonyi pushing forward from midfield with ever more skill, the visitors' goal was threatened several times. Pobeda were pinned back, and in the 70th minute Toth Abonyi pulled one back with a header from a corner. Two clear chances for Gajda and Belec underlined the home superiority, as did the penalty Pinter converted in the 84th minute. Two more goals hung in the air after that, but luck, as in the preceding rounds, again deserted the young Senta side.
