The heavily rejuvenated side of the former second-division club was forced to defend for almost the whole match. Only the visitors' two dangerous forwards caused some anxious moments in front of Markov's goal, but the Senta goalkeeper had a good day and could not be blamed for either goal. In the 15th minute, after an unforgivable defensive error, Krković broke clear and put Hajduk ahead.
At the start of the second half the hosts attacked with great intensity, and in the 48th minute Krizsan equalised. The goal unsettled and angered the visitors, and in the next minute Vujić brought down Soti off the ball and had to go to the dressing room. In the 52nd minute Soti turned a fine Božić pass into an unstoppable goal, and three minutes later Krizsan scored again. The visitors pulled one back in the 64th minute after a defensive mistake.
The score only partly reflects Senta's superiority, though the yellow-and-blues slowed the game down in the last quarter of an hour, visibly running out of strength, and the Kula side very nearly took advantage. Soti was Senta's best player: he ran a great deal, passed accurately and often helped out the defence.
