With football that was not especially pleasing to the eye but, most importantly, with plenty of goals, Senta made amends to their supporters for the previous Sunday's slip. The start was marked by wave after wave of increasingly dangerous home attacks. Laszlo Agoston could have put his side ahead as early as the 2nd minute, but from around the penalty spot, almost unchallenged, he shot over. What the young right winger could not manage, Rozsa did: barely four minutes after that chance right-back Barna won the ball and ran almost to the visitors' box, played a mid-height ball to the superbly placed Rozsa, and he scored with a diving header.
The second half was more dynamic but often interrupted by fouls, in which the visitors took the lead. The injured Kitli was replaced in attack by Nikolić, who soon had a chance but missed. The visitors came close to equalising in the 76th minute, but two minutes later Nikolić released Laszlo Agoston on the counter and this time he made no mistake, making it 2:0 with a thunderous shot from the edge of the box. Hajduk still did not give up but failed to score in the 82nd minute. In the 88th minute the visiting goalkeeper could only stop an attack illegally and I. Zmukić converted the penalty.
