The first half was a hard-fought affair with few chances, and those were missed one after another. In the second half the hosts stepped up the pressure: as early as the 47th minute Milivojev drove in an excellent Ivanović cross from close range, and in the 58th he confidently converted the penalty rightly awarded for a foul on Tomišić.

In the 75th minute the visitors had a chance too, but Živkov made a brilliant save from Šalipurović's close-range shot. Ivanović set the final score in the 80th minute after a solo run.
