The derby between the two sides from the banks of the Tisa lasted only 79 minutes. At that point, after a throw-in and with Senta leading 1:0, the visitors' Potpara, for reasons no one could understand, kicked the ball into Harmat's face. The referee rightly sent him off, whereupon Potpara ran over in a fury and struck him. In line with the rules, and to prevent any further incidents, the referee abandoned the match.
It had been a poor match in any case, both teams making many mistakes and playing roughly. Neither side could get on top in the first half, although there were chances. Kitli could have scored as early as the 6th minute but fumbled the opportunity, and that was nearly punished when Miklos shot from the edge of the box and Sekulović only just saved. The visitors then won three corners without creating danger. The second half began with the hosts on top. In the 60th minute Kitli again missed a clear chance, but what he could not manage Kis Bicskei did two minutes later. After the goal Sloga opened up, yet the hosts did not let them threaten seriously. The game grew ever more physical, the visitors in particular were on edge, and the atmosphere soured steadily until the abandonment.
