The derby lived up to expectations: both sides gave everything, yet the goals were slow to come despite a wealth of chances. That was especially true of the first half, when the Kanjiža side missed five big openings and hit the woodwork twice, while the hosts had two real chances to go with six corners. Potisje looked the stronger team, but Senta, though going through a poor spell, were worthy opponents in a match played in a sporting spirit.
The visitors went ahead through a goalkeeping error: in the 52nd minute Lacko's 35-metre drive caught the badly positioned home keeper out. The joy lasted ten minutes. In the 62nd Roganović lifted the ball out of a goalmouth scramble to the edge of the six-yard box, where Kovacs reacted quickest and equalised. With Potpara sent off, Senta played the last 28 minutes a man short and their momentum faded.
In the shootout Lacko missed first, but for the hosts substitute Pocs saw his kick superbly saved by Dukai and Paku hit the post. Kanjiža thus deservedly took the point. The three officials had a good game.
