Town derby before a thousand spectators goes to Žitopromet - Žitopromet vs. Senta (89/90)

The derby began in a fantastic atmosphere, with supporters bringing every prop imaginable, and it was a pleasure to hear the two camps battling it out. The players fought fairly, did not skimp on good football, and there was no shortage of goals. The hosts were in control from the start. In the 20th minute Rudics scored from some twenty metres, past the wall. In the 28th Verba answered goal with goal, but by the 30th Csuzdi had put his side back in front. Senta would not lie down and Belec equalised after a solo run in the 36th minute.

After the break Žitopromet went ahead again through Zs. Bognar in the 70th minute, and from then on there was only one team on the pitch. Rudics scored his second in the 73rd minute, and in the 85th Novak pulled Basa down with his hand, the same player setting the final score at 5:2 from the penalty spot. The refereeing trio was excellent.
