Senta had the first big chance: in the 5th minute Roganović put a cross from Kurfis over the bar. After the tenth minute the visitors took control, and in the 12th Veličković headed a fine goal from a Mihajlović cross. The Novi Sad side then took complete charge and kept the home goal under constant threat. In the 32nd minute, after a free kick by Bogdanović from the halfway line, the Senta defence stopped and Vučurević II ran through between the backs to score.
After the break the picture changed completely. Senta launched attack after attack and won five corners in a row, but the visitors' defence held firm and the home forwards could not score. Around the middle of the half the game turned rough and players on both sides were injured. Čolović I and Kurfis stood out at times for Senta.
