Although nothing much was at stake for either side in this Saturday fixture, the spectators saw a genuine, hard-fought league contest. The points might have gone differently had the referee not ruled out a perfectly good Senta goal in the 15th minute: Gajda, the best player on the pitch, scored with a clever finish from a clear chance, hemmed in by two players. Orešković led 2:0 at the break through Pjevač and Somogyi.
After the interval Borsos pulled one back in the 60th minute and Pinter equalised from the penalty spot in the 72nd. In the 86th minute, at 2:2, another clear chance for the visitors was wiped out: Belec received an excellent ball on the right wing and shook off the defenders, and the linesman, standing right by the incident, waved play on, but referee Babičković, back on the halfway line, gave offside and so saved the hosts from a certain goal. In the end the point stayed with the hosts, even though in the shootout Senta goalkeeper Novak made a superb save from Čuk's fierce shot.
