The game opened cautiously. In the 30th minute Stojanov converted Nikolin's perfect pass from close range, and everyone expected the hosts to add more, but Stojanov, Jović and Milivojev all missed their chances.

The tempo dropped in the second half, and in the 60th minute Kovačević scored from close range after a cross from the left. The hosts had not yet recovered from the shock when Ostojić put the visitors ahead on the counter in the 62nd. Senta pushed for an equaliser, but Jović, Stojanov and Popov could not take their chances.
