The first quarter of an hour was mostly midfield play, and in the 17th minute Borbely drove in a ball Laczko had lofted in front of goal. In the very next minute his thunderbolt whistled just centimetres over the bar. Slowly the visitors regrouped: in the 23rd minute one of their forwards dribbled past three defenders, but his shot went out off the post. The Senta defence was under pressure until the 42nd minute, when Abraham broke away on the left and scored with a hard, low shot.
At the start of the second half Kombinat ran the game for some fifteen minutes, and then Senta came on. In the 65th minute Abraham was brought down inside the penalty area and Laczko converted the penalty. The visitors pulled one back in the 69th minute with a 20-metre shot, and Borbely set the final score in the 75th from a Voros pass. Gvozdenović I. and Borbely stood out.
