The match began with a Senta attack and for a few minutes the visitors were pinned in front of their goal, but they then came into the game and Jovović had to save from Uglar and Martinović. Senta took the lead in the 27th minute: Roganović found Fajka, who beat the full-back and passed to Kalman, and he volleyed the ball into the net. The visitors equalised in the 41st minute, when Szatmari converted a free kick from about twenty metres.
Egység attacked at the start of the second half, but Senta gradually took control. Their defenders, however, kept sending high balls to the forwards, which suited the Topola side, who at times defended with seven or eight players. Roganović shot over an empty goal from four metres, and in the last ten minutes Senta pinned their opponents back. On the run of play Senta deserved to win, but the visiting goalkeeper Hornyak, the best player on the pitch, saved his team from defeat. Homolya and Čolović earned praise for the hosts.
