We were robbed - Krivaja vs. Senta (00/01)

Senta came home from Krivaja incensed: the referee from Subotica disallowed a legitimate goal of theirs and blew up another clear opening.

The match began with a cold shower for the yellow-and-blues, the hosts leading twenty seconds after kick-off: a long ball from a free kick was headed down by the 198-centimetre Nikola Žigić, and his brother had no trouble scoring from five metres. From then on the far fitter visitors took control. Their first real reward should have come in the 41st minute, when Zrnić broke away on the right and rolled the ball to Andrusko arriving from deep, only for the referee, forty metres away, to stop play although the linesman's flag stayed down. A similar move came from the left in the 51st: from Jakovljević's pass Andrusko drove in under the bar from around the penalty spot, and Hajder ruled that offside too. Bojić might have equalised twice with his head - once the ball ran along the goal line, the second time Grekša tipped it onto the bar.

- Even though Krivaja also produced excellent counter-attacks, our team clearly played better, so I say it with a clear conscience: in this match we were robbed! Because of various earlier incidents we were afraid of the referee from Subotica, and I maintain that this game had its prelude. It is not the defeat that hurts, but that they took away the 47 training sessions and the work of the past month - said a bitter Jozsef Ozvegy, Senta's head coach.
