Senta had good reason to fear this fixture. The hosts were forced to play without five key players, Roganović, Agoston, Nikolić, Farago and Đurović, all unavailable because of red and yellow cards. Čantavir, by contrast, came at full strength, aiming for at least a point. In the first part of the match the home forwards, had they been just a little sharper, could have beaten Kuktin. The Senta goal was first threatened in the 20th minute, but young Arokszallasi was equal to it. The referee made his first big mistake in the 30th minute, when the home defenders brought down a visiting player and, instead of pointing to the spot, he waved play on.
The hosts attacked more after the break too and created some chances, which their forwards missed one after another. From the 65th minute the visitors took control, and only then did the Senta defence, and especially the goalkeeper, have plenty to do. The debutant in goal saved his side from several certain goals. By then the absence of the five key players was showing in Senta's play. Even so, Tomić did once beat Kuktin, but the referee disallowed the goal, perhaps to make up for the penalty not given to Čantavir. That nearly caused chaos on the pitch. Three minutes from the end Juhasz scored the winner from a goalmouth scramble. At the final whistle a few home supporters jumped the fence and ran on to the pitch, but fortunately the club officials stepped in in time.
