Up until the 18th minute there were no serious moves or shots on goal. A minute later, though, a well-worked combination between Vukasović and Popov saw the latter all but hand the ball to Matić, who found the net from around ten meters. In the 26th minute, Panić was substituted for Vasin due to injury. The second half brought a shock at the City Stadium: a scramble broke out in Senta's penalty area, the ball bounced from foot to foot, and Bajić got hold of it, scoring a fine goal from around fifteen meters to equalize. Senta regrouped but couldn't find a way back in front. Gecić hit the post from a free kick, and a few more moves fizzled out sloppily in front of Čavić's goal. It already looked like the visitors would snatch two points away from the league leaders at the death. Regular time ran out, and the referee signaled 2 minutes of stoppage time. Every home player pushed forward into the opposition's penalty area. A short corner was played to the right, the cross found Nedučić, who laid it off to Matić, and he finished from close range - 2:1. What looked like it was turning into a setback was instead turned into a huge celebration and a sweet win.
