What even the greatest optimists had not expected actually happened: a side from the Serbian League Vojvodina, the third tier of Serbian football, beat Partizan Belgrade in a friendly. The visitors controlled possession, but it was the hosts who went ahead in the 18th minute through Beslać on the counter-attack. Partizan hit the crossbar in the 24th minute, yet the equaliser never came.
The Belgrade side lost their rhythm and gave the ball away repeatedly, and in the 40th minute Farkas made it 2:0 from the edge of the six-yard box - his first goal in an FK Senta shirt. The growing protest from the away end was quietened by Diarra, who pulled one back within the same minute.
Partizan kept pressing after the break, had a goal ruled out for offside and squandered two clear chances. Substitute Vasin punished them in the 76th minute, finishing off a counter-attack for 3:1, before Diarra set the final score of 3:2 in the 87th minute. Having opened the season with a draw and a defeat, Senta needed this win badly ahead of the weekend trip to Dunav.
